Vol. XIII, no. x, October 2003

Not a lot to write this month!  Our little events in September were little, though we did have a surprising five guys on Saturday at Fort Washington.  The Fall Encampment at Marietta was rainy, so Susan Wolfe let us park in the law office and we didn't bother to set up the tent.  There was an encouraging number of spectators, even so.

We have a few more potential members and will be helping to get them suited up over the winter.  Welcome, all!

No word yet about the Walk Through Bethlehem, which is usually around the first weekend in December.   I'm assuming we'll get an invitation, and will pass it along.

I was going to buy a couple books and write some reviews on them, but my car decided it wanted repairs, instead…

Oh, and if you get a chance to see the Masterpiece Theater movie, "Warrior Queen" starring Alex Kingston, skip it!   Not only is the history completely butchered and the costuming abysmal, but the script is laughable, the characters are weak, and the sets are silly.  It turns out the Romans were repeatedly defeated by children!  (Guess we shouldn't have given up the greaves…)  You can give me the same old lame arguments about it only being a movie, but really, we expect a little better from Masterpiece Theater.

If you have not seen any recent updates to the website, it's because I have been unable to upload anything for a couple weeks.  In moving my old software to my new computer, a password got changed or lost, and until that is fixed, no updates.  The folks who run the server haven't gotten back to me yet, but in the meantime I've been working on a LOT of the pages.  So when I get access again, you will see a lot of new stuff.

November 1 -- Monthly Workshop at Roger and JJ Moskey's, Sterling, VA
December ? -- Walk Through Bethlehem program

Directions to the monthly workshops/musters at Roger Moskey's house:
From I-495 Capital Beltway, take Exit 12 B Route 267 Toll Road West towards
Dulles Airport.  After paying toll (50 cents), take the first exit--Exit 16 Route 7 Leesburg Pike West for about 11 miles.  Go past Cascades Parkway, and at the next light take a right onto PALISADES Parkway, then an immediate left onto "Triple 7" (Route 777).  Pass Calvary Temple on right, take the next right onto Regina Drive; follow it to the end and take a right onto Markwood Drive.   At stop sign take a left onto Terrie Drive (culdesac).  #304 is just to the right of the middle.  (Actually, I've been taking VA Rt. 193 Georgetown Pike from the Beltway, through Great Falls and up to Rt. 7.  Cuts off some of the Beltway, the toll, and much of awful Rt. 7.)

And that's about it!  Sorry, folks, just not much to say and not much going on.
