Aralis - The Shipwrecked: The Garandi

The Garandi came to the western continent of Alasia from the far east, from their homeland Garandou, the Land of the Pure. They waged a war of Invasion when they landed in the West, a war to conquer and destroy the last vestiges of the evil god, Talos. A war they were assuredly winning, until a Treaty signed at the city of Liberty ended the hostilities and created an uneasy peace in the West.

The Westerners know little of the Garandi, except what they have learned through the war. They know that the Garandi are divided into Clans: Light, Darkness, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Life, and Death, and that the Clans honor the Celestial Dragons that embody these elements. The Garandi consider the gods of the West to be vestiges of the evil of Talos, and it is with the purpose to destroy this evil that the Garandi have invaded the West and waged their war.

The Garandi ship, The Light That Breaks Through The Storm, was travelling from the Dragon Isle, when the dark storm claimed it. Hundreds of lives were lost, and only a few Garandi survived to wake upon the lost island's shores.

Called the Kina, she is a dark and mysterious woman, at one with the Shadows. A Master of the Elements of Darkness, Light, and Air, she can wield magicks of those element with ease - and can even summon Elementals of Venera to do her bidding. Fiercely loyal, she has devoted herself utterly to the Will of the Dragons.

Kage, whose mind is as nimble as his fingers, has been instrumental in keeping the peace between the Westerners and the Garandi on this island. A charmer skilled in the Arts of Stealth, he forever favors the Shadows.

Takura was the Commander of the Clan of Death here on this island. Concerned with honor, and determined to be a strong leader to his Clan, Takura often found himself torn in his duty, railing against his weaknesses, both perceived and real. He was discovered to be a Priest of Talos, and was sent to Renshi for judgement by the other Garandi.

Shuyoshi is the lieutenant of the Clan of Death here. A Samurai warrior, honor is his strength. He is a fearless and relentless hunter of Undead and Demons, and fought with his Clan's Army in the war against the West. Shuyoshi has learned this his sire is the Demon called the Prince of Skulls, and was recently transformed into a demon himself.

Seishin is Shuyoshi's sister, as skilled in the arts of Stealth as her brother is in the arts of War. She is studied in the arts of poisons and alchemy, and is a formidable opponent.

Sento is a master of the Element of Death, skilled in the arts of unarmed combat even as he is able to weild the deadly magics of Renshi.

This vessel of the Clan of Water brushed the edges of a great storm, but was not taken by it. Only Midori, so far as the Shipwrecked know, was swept off the decks of the vessel to awaken again on the shores of this accursed island.

Midori is a Mystic whose strength lies in her healing, though she is somewhat skilled in the arts of self-defense. She strives for understanding and compassion and healing, while standing against Corruption. She tries in all ways to embody the nature of Water: calm and flowing.

Returning from the negotations called by the Sokuze on Dragon Isle, the Sword of the Master, bearing the representatives from the Clans of Light and Fire, was also caught by the Storm that had claimed so many others. Whether only these three were swept from the ship to wash up on this island, or the entire ship itself was sunk beneath the waves, the survivors do not know.

Jukodo Akinari is a skilled Marksman and formidable warrior, having fought in the battle at Southpoint during the Invasion. Direct and to the point, his nature is as unerring as his aim. He has recently claimed Command of the Garandi on the island.

Misa is a Mystic, devoted in all ways to the healing of both body and mind. Intense and understanding, she offers counsel and advice to those who would heed her wisdom, seeking to heal all wounds, be they of the flesh or of the soul.

Hisakino Karei is an Elementalist of Fire, passionate and bright as her Element. She fought in the War against the Empire, and is quick to jump to the forefront of the battles here on this island, burning any enemy who stands in her way.

Tanaka Keiko is a Witch Hunter who washed up on the island when the ship she was on, The Fire that Breaks the Dawn, was destroyed in a storm. She is very strict on her harsh views of demons and gods, which is seen as a strength by some and a grave annoyance by others. Despite her strong aversions and hatreds, she has followed the instructions of her commander and shown herself to be an asset on the battlefield, particularly against undead.

Kio Sake is a skilled Runesmith, devoted to his craft. His skills have proven valuable, and have given him a dedication and purpose among the Garandi and the Shipwrecked. Straight-forward and proper, he offers his services to those who have need of it.
